The hard one needs from you to know:
1. The exact name of the printer you are going to print the file e.g.HP LaserJet P2015 Series PCL 5e. Note that for networked printers this name can be longer and more complicated e.g.\\printesrver\HP LaserJet P2015 Series PCL 5e and maybe you must consult your IT administrator.
2.The name of the .plt file you want to plot including the complete path e.g. c:\\directoryname\testfile.plt
You must start the windows "run" window and issue a command like the following
copy c:\\directoryname\testfile.plt \\printesrver\HP LaserJet P2015 Series PCL 5e
and hit OK.
This way you direct your .plt file to the desired printer.
This procedure must be repeated for every .plt file you want to plot
Now the easy one has as follows:
Download the printfile utility from here.
Credits and rights belong here:
peter@lerup.com
www.lerup.com/printfile
It consists of a zip file.
- Extract the zip file to a folder.
- Make a shortcut to PrFile32.exe and put it on your desktop.
- Fire up PrFile32.exe.
You will see this window
Select the file(s) you want to plot by pressing "Print File' Button and selecting 'all files"
- Select the printer you want to direct your plotting to (Including all printers inside your local area network) by pressing Settings. Dont try to find .pc3 printers from Autocad here. You are asking for Windows System Printers.
- Hit OK
TIP. You can even drag and drop any number of .plt files inside the above window directing all them to the specified printer
That's all. You can plot your .plt files this way.
